Upgradability
The backbone of our design is upgradability. We have laid down a framework so that you can trust your investment in our products. Our products are built to be upgraded and specifically tailored to your needs.
Shafts
Our upgradability really shines in simple parts, such as the shafts. For example, LibreShred Lite comes with a 2020 mm square tube of 2 mm thickness. This is upgradable to a thicker 2020 x 3 mm square tube or even a solid 2020 mm square bar. Of course, a stronger shaft will enable shredding of stronger materials.
Blades
The blades of a shredder are a key component of the shredder. The blades can be upgraded in terms of material strength. For example, 3D printed blades can be upgraded into A36 mild steel blades, and then into AR500 blades.
Easy Disassembly
The LibreShred series was designed with upgradability in mind. With upgrading, disassembly is necessary. Thus, disassembly is convenient in our designs. With simply the unfastening of a few screws, the entire shredder can be disassembled.
Metric Vs. Imperial
Since we sought to create the most user-friendly experience with Libreshred, we have chose to accommodate both imperial and metric measuring systems. This way, you are not limited by the measurement system of your geographic location
Blade thickness
Both metric and imperial thicknesses are used for the blades. In the metric variation, 5 mm blades are used. In the imperial variation, 3/16" blades are used. The blades can be created using laser cut sheet metal.
